OFAC delists Fly Baghdad and two aircraft; linked individual remains blocked

Updated · Impact score 74/100 · Confidence 55%

OFAC removed Fly Baghdad Airlines Company, including the Iraq Express alias, and Boeing 737 aircraft YI-BAF and YI-BAN from the SDN List on August 5. OFAC separately updated Basheer Al-Shabbani's record to link him directly to the IRGC-Qods Force; he remains blocked.

Why it matters

Airline, aircraft, payment, ticketing, maintenance, insurance, and cargo-screening records should reflect the removals without incorrectly clearing the still-listed individual. Delisting these SDN records does not by itself resolve other sanctions, export-control, ownership, or transaction-specific restrictions.

What to check next

Refresh screening data for Fly Baghdad, Iraq Express, YI-BAF, and YI-BAN, then re-review any held match against the current OFAC record and all other applicable controls. Keep Basheer Al-Shabbani blocked and update his linkage to the IRGC-Qods Force.
