USTR forced-labor action adds 10%–12.5% tariffs across 60 economies

USTR's final Section 301 action took effect July 24 for covered imports from 60 economies. Most covered goods receive a 10% or 12.5% additional tariff, while EU, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Switzerland use rates net of ordinary MFN duty.
Why it matters
The action reaches nearly every major U.S. sourcing market and applies by country of origin and product classification, subject to general and country-specific exclusions. A narrow exception for qualifying goods already in transit closes July 28.
